The age end timer is too long right now. You could cut them each back 1/3rd. At this point you have a lot of people who lose interest when there are 4 remaining. Activity dwindles, energy levels fall.
Just cut it back a bit at 4 and 5 countries left

+1, please shorten the 7 day timer to 4-5 days, 3 day timer down to 1 or 2 days at the very least. If you wanted to adjust Neptune, have Neptune swallow a layer of cities each time a country falls.
