Commanders,
A few changes to the units on the africa map, to take off the sharp edges.
- Bedouins lost their cav-status (they were never intended to have that on them..)
- Masaai/Turkana T1 are less pezzielike, they received more hp/str/auth and are 'normal' T1 units now.
- Buff for Gunpowder Specialist +5hp, +4 Rstr
- Removed Anticav-status from Masaai Warbands, they didn't need that to be strong.
- Hero Weapon: Nerfed the Lance, it had 30str-35pike, its nerfed to 15str-35pike.
- Slight change in the hero weapons per level. Especially the armor types have a bit better flow now between lvl 10-lvl18, so you have a new item to wear every level, instead of having a no items on a certain level, then 3 new items on the next level.
To do:
- Rework on the unit/countries terain bonusses. It's a little bit min/max now. With countries having no good bonusses for their units. Need to rework and recalculate this.
- There has been a request to replace Portuguese Overseas with the Dutch East Indies Trading Company. Willing to do this, but need more time for that as that requires new flag/patterns/whatnot to install.
- Still need namechanges for the Mounted Soldiers/Pikes unit-line. The names are boring, so open for suggestions with an African taste to them.

Not to be an ass but:
3 of 4 territorial units were screwed off the start with being unable to rank to blue before running out of gold..
Turkana shieldmasters are guaranteed to win the top ranking medals, followed by massai champs if they can make up the early age Issue.
Jannies are still useless as they lack individual hp with the ex calculation now and I believe the same can be said for boers.

Late to the party, but in case you still need new names for those Mounted Soldiesr/Pikes, here goes.
Cavalry in Africa was mostly situated in northern/midnorthern Africa. Obviously it's hard to keep horses in thick forest/jungle, they were more prevalent in savanna regions.
So we'll call the T1 Savanna Riders
Next I've taken inspiration from two cavalry heavy empires, Mali and Kanem-Bornu.
From Mali we hail:
Mandekalu Horsemen - Mounted nobles who fought with swords/sabres/lances.
Farari (meaning brave men) - Equivalent of the European knight, usually high ranking military commanders.
In Kanem-Bornu we meet:
Kanuri Horsemaster - Horses have always been and still are an important part of kanuri culture/warfare.
Hausa Cavalry - Elite reserve cavalry of the Kanem-Bornu empire. Not nescessarily native Kanuri people themselves, comparable with the Janissaries or Varangians, they sometimes served as bodyguards of the then current rules/emperors/emirs.
A lot of pictures show the Kanuri and Hausa cavalry wielding lances/spears so we’ll put them as the mounted pikes and the Mandekalu & Farari as the mounted soldiers.
T1 Horserider – Savanna Riders
T2 Mounted Soldier – Mandekalu Horsemen
T2 Mounted Spearman – Kanuri Horsemaster
T3 Mounted Champion – Farari
T3 Mounted Pikeman – Hausa Cavalry
Feel free to question or comment, I am by no means an expert on African history.

Re: [Age 340] African Units fixes
Well I know more about African history nowadays then I wanted to
I will look into your suggestions, if they make sense ill change them for next africa age.
To be fair, anything is better than the current naming, I just want it to make any sense, also in the time period this map plays (which is the colonial time)

Re: [Age 340] African Units fixes
Any update on this?
Re: [Age 340] African Units fixes
Can implement if nobody has any objections.
I just have to rename them in database and rename their images and thats all there is to it.
