Commanders,
Safemode was causing some issues lately. We had multiple reports of the function not working properly.
And we found the issue and we resolved it. However, we urge everybody to check their current safemode status in their profile.
Especially newer accounts can be affected by our changes. The 'old' accounts should be unaffected, as nothing really changed there.
But better safe(mode) than sorry; please check your profile and pick the mode you desire.
Then, there were requests to reinstate the refguide function, to see the unitstats per level.
This is reinstated. You can click on any unit in the refguide, to see the stats per level.
This update got just pushed, so you might need to ctrl-f5 on the refguide to get the new version of the page.
Then on the Africa map, if anything is still broken, please use this topic to enlighten us.
I know I messed up the T1 units at the start of the age, but hotfixed them in a way that was workable for both you and me.
The units will always be a itchy thing to touch. It stand and falls with balance, in training, in ranking, in pvp and in sfs.
Im not gonna explain why this is the most hard factor of the game, for us as devs/admins to balance.
Constructive reports of performances is the way to help us with it. (xx unit is shit as hell, or lines like that, dont help at all..)
Mapvoting seems to work like intended, so atleast thats nice

The Massai was a terrible unit by themselves (kinda pessie unit so it was expected) but I used them with hunters to rank up to Major-Gen in 1 run, so I think that they were still workable. As I went through the ranks, I did think they gained unit xp slower than other maps (unless this was a change that I missed). However, I think they did rank well as they are now. I didn't try very hard but still held onto 5th. I think some of the other country specific units should get a small buff to be able to compete with champs and what the top 3 had (turkana shieldmasters?)
I think you should add some extra sea routes as the map seems too small and the age went very quick. Adding some long sea routes would open more escape options.
Also, I know the sub-saharan region is nomadic living but those all those villages are intense. Maybe adding a mid city in the middle because its an 'Oasis' could be an idea. Surround it with villages but take away the double village hops which suck in early age planning with activity that is all over the place.
Other than this I think its a great map to work on, keep it up!

Africa sucks as a whole, please remove it from the rotation.
