it's just as irritating to get 55-ish levy cavs by training up as it is to get enough scouts in mtlk for a tartar army. i'm guessing you want that many for the mamluk army? :)

my sollution: rebuilding at general. it works pretty well, and you still get to reach hardcap at marshal. the downside is that you're going to be under hardcap for short intervals around gen**/vm and so on.

You can have 55 Veteran Mamluk Cavalry(s) at Marquess/Marchioness

At General** you can buy 58 Veteran Levy Cavalry(s)
At General you can buy 60 Standard Levy Cavalry(s)
At Captain** you can buy 56 Apprentice Levy Cavalry(s)
At Baron/Baroness you can buy 55 Master Tibetan Horseman(s)
At Marshal you can buy 57 Veteran Tibetan Horseman(s)
At General** you can buy 55 Standard Tibetan Horseman(s)

There you go, not impossible, will just take you like forever to do it, unless you of course do a rebuild like Serpico said.

a follow up to rebuilding at general in order to get tartar warriors/mamluks:

i'm not saying this is THE best way to do it, but after doing it successfully 3-4 times (for different armies :P), i know it works.

first of all, get trainer on both of your heroes (duelist on your first one AFTER trainer skill, just in case) and keep dumping points on trainer until they reach 15 skill. after this point you can either start your melee skills or get merchant. you may need some money later on in case you get captured in training or in pvp or you just FH too much in order to speed runs. taking precautions never killed anybody :)

in order to get mamluks, things go as following: you rank up until lt* with apprentice levy cavalries (you should be able to have 37 units then), at which point you promote 25-30 of them to levy spearmen and the rest to std levy cavs. as you promote further, only promote the levy spearmen and acquire further app levies when the opportunity arises. this is in order to limit the number of trainer exp you need to use up when you rebuild at general, because you will want to have some excess experience to hardcap later on (tibetans train like milk, honestly). if you've have around 15 std levies when you reach general ready to promote to std tibetan horsemen, you'll save up 40k+ experience, for instance :)

for tartars, things will go similarly. you'll need some 10-15 scouts (up to you if you want 'em when you reach lt or you get them ranking up through gray ranks) and another 30-ish spearmen. promote the scouts to standard, and the spearmen as much as you humanly can. since tartar warriors are cheaper than mamluks in asia, the extra experience you save will be much more useful when you buy the rest of your army at general.

all in all, if you reach general through training you should have around 110k trainer experience saved up. you will probably need to buy a mix of app/std/vet scouts or levy cavs so that you limit the amount of trainer used while hardcapping, but this will cost some money to do properly (i suppose you can go with 20-ish stds, 10 vets and the rest apps, but it's up to you and your money at the time and the number of units you intend on keeping :) ). also, get a few extra units when rebuilding. they might come in handy around gen*/**
